Well it's been a while Phoenix!

How about the possibility of unlimited number of ships.

In the settings for the arena/event have the ability to set up any amount of ships.

Simply input the file name of the sprite sheet for the ship as well as other ship settings.

Maybe even a nice little interface for adjusting settings, and be able to just click 'Add Ship'.

Howdy,

I've been busy working on the networking code for Phoenix USC and just noticed this post. Wink

I will be using a GUI interface for selecting ships as well as any settings for those ships. I will be starting out simply with PUSC so the first version will have a limited number of ships but will be expandable to include many ships via the map editor with various weapons and defensive objects.

User added ships are not ruled out but for now will be determined by the zone operator. This is mainly do to the fact that I will have to develop a framework to distribute a user ship to all the other connected clients. I suppose I could allow a user to have custom ship graphics that only appear on his or hers client which should be easier to impliment. I will give it some thought.

After watching the Alpha preview video I had a thought for something maybe towards the beta release.

I was thinking it would be a very nice effect if the upper layer of map parts were transparent. Or more transparent, something barely visible, just enough so you know there is an upper or lower section in the map. And maybe use a shaded affect for lower, and a tinted affect for upper sections. I think a transition on the radar similar to this affect would be a wonderful addition as well, or even eliminate the map parts from the layers you're not in completely.

Been a while since I've been able to get any time to get on, but was glad to get the alpha info in my email.
